Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin who was born in Wellington but was born and bred in Winnipeg was first seen in the acting world as a character in The Piano. At age 11 years old, she became an infant Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. In response to a public audition, when she was nine, she changed her name to Flora McGrath - the daughter of an Scottish muffled pianist during the 19th century. She was able to move from Scotland to New Zealand to marry an arranged husband. At the age of 17, Paquin made the move to America. Paquin had a small part in the movie's title character, when she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin performed the role of Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. The actress also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She was also a character on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) and Almost Famous (2000). She also played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
